How to Set Up Scroll Wheel Reset in Fortnite

Introduction

In Fortnite build fights, every second counts. You box an opponent, edit a window, and land a shot, but you still need to reset your build before they can retaliate. If resetting takes too long, you leave yourself exposed.

Scroll Wheel Reset is a bind that makes resetting your edits almost instant. Instead of reaching for another key, you can reset an edit with a quick flick of your finger. It offers a competitive advantage, which is why most KBM pros have this bind set up.

Here’s how to set up scroll wheel reset in Fortnite, why so many competitive players use it, and how to get comfortable with it.

What Is Scroll Wheel Reset in Fortnite?

Scroll Wheel Reset is a mouse and keyboard bind that lets you reset edited builds by scrolling your mouse wheel. The community just shortened its name to Mouse Wheel Reset.

Normally, to reset an edited piece, you need to press the edit button, then press the reset button, and then confirm it. Even with Confirm Edit On Release on, it’s a two-button process. With Mouse Wheel Reset, you only need to look at an edited piece, flick your scroll wheel, and the piece resets.

Once configured, a single scroll in your chosen direction can reset a wall, floor, or other edited piece

It works by assigning both the Building Edit and Reset Building Edit actions to the same scroll direction.

This bind can only be used on mouse and keyboard. Controller players cannot use scroll wheel reset, but they can improve their editing speed by adjusting their button layout or using paddles.

How to Set Up Scroll Wheel Reset in Fortnite

Setting up scroll wheel reset only takes a minute. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Fortnite and head to Settings from the lobby.
  2. Navigate to the Keyboard Controls tab.
  3. Find the Building Edit and Reset Building Edit actions.
  4. Assign your preferred mouse wheel direction to the secondary bind for Building Edit.
  5. Assign that same scroll direction to the secondary bind for Reset Building Edit.
  6. Apply your changes and return to the game.

You can use either scroll wheel up or scroll wheel down. Choose whichever feels more comfortable, but make sure both actions use the same direction.

Keeping your existing edit key as the primary bind means you can still enter edit mode normally. The scroll wheel handles the reset, so you don’t need to change your entire control layout.

You may also want to enable Confirm Edit on Release in your building settings. This can make editing slightly faster. But you don’t need to have it on for Mouse Wheel Reset to work.

Once you’ve changed the binds, head into Creative mode to test them. Place a wall, edit it, and scroll to reset it.

Common Scroll Wheel Reset Problems

Generally, everything should work, but you may run into these problems, so here is how to fix them.

Your weapon switches when you scroll: Your mouse wheel may still be assigned to cycling weapons. You can use the opposite scroll direction for weapon cycling, but moving the action is the best way to go about it.

Your reset doesn’t register: Double-check that Building Edit and Reset Building Edit are assigned to the same scroll direction. Test the input in Creative mode to see whether the problem comes from your binds or the mouse itself.

Your mouse wheel registers unwanted inputs: If scrolling sometimes triggers an input without you intending it to, check your mouse for hardware issues. Testing another mouse can help you determine whether the wheel is the issue rather than your Fortnite settings.

Is Scroll Wheel Reset Worth It?

The short answer is yes.

It’s a bind that pretty much every Fortnite build player uses. And even those who don’t use it have some other setup to reset instantly. It doesn’t offer a big advantage but does make resetting edits a lot easier. If you can comfortably reset your builds with your current binds, then you can skip it if you want. After all, controller players don’t have access to this bind, and it doesn’t affect them much.

Think of it as an accessibility bind that makes the action of resetting your builds easier. It takes a minute to set up, so you can try it out in Creative to see if it’s worth it for you. If it doesn’t suit your playstyle, you can always switch back to your previous binds.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
